Join Kate on Monday evenings throughout the winter for a restorative, grounding, and nourishing movement journey—one that is as playful as it is profound to the body and spirit.
Shake the Dust is a unique embodied movement practice that Kate first experienced in early 2025. The moment she stepped into the class, her body and spirit came alive. Soon after, she completed teacher training and is deeply honored to share this modality through The Yoga Loft community and here in the U.S.
This is a down-to-earth class open to all levels and bodies.
The Winter Edition offers a slower, more intentional rhythm—attuned to the season of restoration, supporting our nervous systems, and inviting deep presence and deep rest. What can be better than a slow invitation to breath, move, rest and then go home for a Winter's Night of Sleep?!
We Rest in Mo(ve)ment.
**Please bring a yoga mat and an eye pillow with a strap (one that secures around the head). If you don’t have an eye pillow, a soft scarf also works great.**
Shake the Dust: let go of what you may be hindered by.
This is a transformative and embodied practice of the bodyheartmind. Through guided poetic universe with a theme related to each practice we journey between perpetual movement, rest, release and free movement.
With shaking, jumping, dancing, intuitive moment (some yoga sometimes too), pilates, somatics and body weight training, not to mention a kick ass carefully curated playlist, this class is designed for anyone but especially yogis and will at best deliver a cathartic release, a great workout, sweat and a strong, resilient body.
VIRTUAL DETAILS:
We believe in the potency and benefits of Shaking the Dust through all the seasons—for the body, heart, nervous system and connection with each other.
While our Monday night practice is rooted in gathering together in studio, Shake the Dust is ultimately a living practice and ritual—one that can meet us wherever we are (enter in the zoom cocoon).
On days when weather is questionable and safety is always a priority; we will move the class into a virtual space rather than canceling. A decision will be made and shared by 4pm, allowing space for ease and proper planning.
Whether practiced in person or online, Shake the Dust remains an inner and outer journey—guided movement, shaking, rest, breath, and integration. Over time, it becomes less about form and more about relationship with the moment. We learn with our bodies how to stay present with sensation, emotion, and energy as they move through us.
Practicing virtually offers continuity and intimacy, allowing the medicine of the practice to support circulation, nervous system regulation, emotional processing, and a felt sense of aliveness—especially during quieter or more inward seasons.
Class cards, Venmo and Credit Cards may be used for both in-studio and virtual classes.
Season after season, this is an invitation to keep showing up for your body, to stay in conversation with what is shifting, and to move with life as it unfolds.
