::Take Care of the Girls : A Guide to Boosting Radiant Breast Health::

The breasts are part of an area of the body that is a portal of deep nourishment of life, pleasure and healing, yet they are one of the most hypersexualized, objectified and shamed areas of the body on physical, emotional, energetic and societal layers.

The breasts undergo all sorts of poking, smooshing in mammograms, being injected and radiated for beauty and in order to ‘prevent disease’.

They are THE source of providing life sustenance breast milk and nourishment.

Breasts are located in the 4th energy chakra center of the body, near the heart. Caroline Myss (a medical intuitive) shares that ‘the major emotion behind breast lumps and breast cancer is unfinished business related to nurturance, hurt and sorrow’. These emotions can get stuck in the body and not have the ability to be expressed fully.

Yet, on the other side of the spectrum, the breasts and energy of the heart open us up to love, gratitude, forgiveness, connection and expansion. There is a potent thread of connection between both the Yoni and Heart, as well as the Lingam and the Heart.

Energetically, women open from the heart down to the Yoni. Men open from the Lingam to the Heart.

Safety, ‘Turn On’, and Pleasure have a vast field to explore in the body.

I believe that radiance is a whole body journey. Our outer terrain reflects the state of affairs from the deep inner workings in our bodies.

I want to share some of my favorite ways and personal practices to support and enhance connection within the body, everyday detox, maintenance, vitality and how to offer some good ol' TLC towards the girls.

SELF BREAST MASSAGE:

How much love do you give to these beauties? It’s easy to neglect them and keep them cooped up in restrictive bras for way too many hours!

Breast tenderness changes during the month. It changes as our hormones and stress levels fluctuate. . Establishing a daily ritual of giving yourself a breast massage will help you notice and identify any changes within breast tissue and offers your body another tool to decrease stress and tension, as well as enhance a your connection to your sensuality and feminine essence. Daily breast massage helps move excess estrogen and toxins through the lymph out of the breasts. It also is a powerful tool to invoke and clear emotions moving in and out of the body.

Breast Massage Benefits include:

-Relieves tension, stress and tightness in the body.

-Increases energy flow and oxygen flow.

-Improves blood circulation.

-Flushes out toxins and encourages lymphatic drainage (this can prevent cysts and lumps from forming).

-Induces a sense of sensuality and connection the body.

-Alleviates premenstrual discomfort associated with breasts.

-Aids in reducing depression as it boosts oxytocin levels.

-Supports endocrine health and hormonal balance.

ROSE QUARTZ BREAST & LYMPH MASSAGER

There is a sacred connection to the breasts, heart and yoni. Regardless if breast tissue or organs of the yoni are present, there is an energetic connection that is always present (even when we feel detached from the body/aspects of the body).

Self massage is a powerful tool to connect with all aspects of the body: physically, mentally, emotionally and energetically.

Rose Quartz carries the properties of divine unconditional love + softening back within.

DIRECT SUN EXPOSURE

For those who know me, I am a huge advocate of getting direct sun on the girls. Every Season of the Year!

The studies of Vitamin D levels and the connection to hormonal and mood support are abundant and accessible to explore.

That’s it. Simple. Sun and Skin.

GET THE BODY MOVING AND GROOVING

Exercise like walking, running, dancing, yoga, strength training, jumping on a rebounder (if you’ve been in my office, you know we love this trampoline!) stimulates lymphatic activity in the body. When your muscles move, they massage the lymphatic system and promote the flow of fluid through your lymph vessels.

Jumping on a rebounder not only supports breast health, but it also stimulates internal organs, supports intestinal health and assists in flushing toxins out of the body. On a side note, it can also help support heart health, reduce body fat, firm legs, thighs, and abdomen; and strengthens muscles throughout the body.

Exercise also helps improve hormone responses and lower cortisol, blood sugar and other factors which can affect hormones.

INFRARED SAUNA

Infrared saunas stimulate lymphatic drainage and boost circulation, which helps to bring essential nutrients, oxygen and other substances to the cells of the body.

The heat also stimulates a cellular detoxification mobilizing toxins through the body. There are two types of toxins in the body.

Water-soluble toxins: which are easily flushed out of the body via the blood and kidneys.

Fat-soluble toxins (Obesogenic compounds): which must be converted by the liver to become water soluble. Fat-soluble toxins include pesticides, preservatives, food additives, heavy metals, pollutants, plastics, other environmental chemicals, fragrances like perfumes, personal care products including deodorants.

We’ve been hosting the sweat sessions in Monmouth County, NJ for 7+ years and aren’t cooling down anytime soon! The infrared sauna offers many whole body benefits that are produced from increasing sweat, heart rate as well as supporting the parasympathetic nervous system..AKA supports the body relax.

DRY SKIN BRUSHING

Dry skin brushing can increase circulation and oxygen flow, flush the lymphatic system and remove dead skin cells amongst other health benefits. Spend 3-5 minutes of brushing before you jump in the shower in the morning. Start at with your arms and legs and use long strokes to move the brush towards your heart. **This is a very inexpensive investment of resources with a huge payout of results**

NOURISHMENT

Take a close look at what you put into your body on a daily basis.

Where is it coming from? What kind of packaging does it come in? How many ingredients does it contain? Is it man-made or Mother Nature made?

How many colors are you including on a daily basis?

Are you familiar with how SEED CYCLING can support your body and hormone levels?

IMG_8965.jpg

SEED CYCLING GUIDELINES: The basic concept of seed cycling is simply to consume flax, pumpkin, sesame and sunflower seeds at specific times during the menstrual cycle to promote hormone balance and support the phases of the menstrual cycle.

Here’s why it works:

1) Lignans in seeds have gentle phytohormone activity, which help to eliminate excess estrogen, a common concern linked to genetics, excess body fat and chemicals in the environment.

2) By balancing estrogen levels, seed lignans help to encourage healthy hormone balance.

3) Seeds are an excellent source of essential fats, which your body utilizes in its own natural hormone production.

• During the follicular phase (the first half of the menstrual cycle), flax and pumpkin seeds are used to balance excess estrogen and encourage progesterone production for normal ovulation. Flax seeds are an especially rich source of lignans that bind to excess estrogen to help the body eliminate it. Pumpkin seeds are used for their essential fats and zinc content, important for progesterone production.

• During the luteal phase (the second half of the menstrual cycle), switch to sesame seeds and sunflower seeds. Sesame seed lignans help balance excess estrogen, but are not as potent as the flax seeds used in the first phase. Sunflower seeds offer natural selenium content for liver support and hormone regulation as the menstrual cycle comes to a close.

The Underarm Controversy

There has been a long-standing debate about the ingredients in deodorants and antiperspirants containing certain heavy metals and endocrine disruptors.

Many commercial deodorants contain parabens and estrogen mimicking chemicals that may also impact breast health. A recent study found aluminum in cancerous breast tissue that had been removed during a mastectomy. The aluminum concentration was higher in tissue near the underarm. "Aluminum is added to deodorants to prevent sweating. The metal has been shown to trigger cancer in animals but it is not known whether or not this could cause the same problems in humans."

Explore the ingredients in your underarm care. There are many natural, inexpensive, effective deodorant options that do not contain any of these chemicals. To make it even more accessible, there are many ways to make your own natural and chemical free deodorants!
